It takes a special kind of drive to keep the world moving; and due to growth, DSV is looking to recruit. DSV are recruiting for a Training Manager at our Mercia Park business location. Reporting to the General Manager, working closely with the Training Specialists, wider BCM & Operational Teams, the Training Manager is a key member of the Contract Logistics Management Team. To work closely with all business leads to meet & exceed both customer & internal expectations as determined by the Business Plan.
The key responsibilities of the Training Manager are the constant delivery of WMS (as per the Global BCM Framework(s)) & delivery of Management Training courses, plans & campaigns to meet wider business requirements.
Key Tasks
- Manage the Training Team in defining & delivery of necessary Training for new customer implementations, site / client moves & continuous improvement projects.
- Ensure all staff are working to the agreed RPP & are training to the required level.
- Work closely with other operational & support functions, such as HR Training Manager, Global BCM, Business Development, Finance & Admin teams in offering ongoing support during new & existing client implementations / improvements, taking workstream lead in Training positions.
Duties / Responsibilities
- Train & develop Training Specialists.
- Deliver WMS Training – Via Global BCM Framework.
- Deliver Operational Training – To multiple levels within operational team.
- Create support plans for key Business Projects.
- Work in conjunction with HR for people development projects or campaigns.
- Survey people in the business with the objective to retain & develop staff.
- Represent UK & IE BCM within project updates.
- Convey key updates to wider project teams.
- Create / develop robust processes for the nomination of training.
- Create / develop robust processes for capture of KPIs / number of courses delivered.
- Delivering of internal HR training.
Key Accountable Areas
- Oversee day to day input of Training Specialist's processes, ensuring training is completed correctly.
- Seek to continually improve processes and streamline activity.
- Ensure Request, IT Support and BCM approval systems are used correctly so appropriate governance and accurate review processes are completed.
- Maintain effective liaison with the Company’s Business Development, Project and Finance & Admin Teams in ensuring that all new customers / projects are implemented meeting customer / key stakeholders requirements.
- Work with the Senior Managers on sites to analyse information and opportunities to provide advice and guidance.
- Overseeing the recruitment, training, development and discipline of all direct reports, maintaining appropriate liaison with the Company’s HR department.
- Monitoring, on an ongoing basis, the performance of all direct and indirect reports, and undertake regular reviews in accordance with the Company’s procedures.
- Maintain & grow key relationships with Global BCM and other operational & support functions.
- To promote, support and implement the sites continuous improvement program/s.
