Main Purpose of the role
DSV is recruiting an Operator, Inventory Clerk at Thrapston. This role provides a customer-focused administration service on selected accounts, working directly with the client’s customer service team to meet delivery targets as per customer requirements. Reporting to the Inventory Supervisor, the role focuses on daily, weekly, and monthly checks to maintain inventory accuracy and improve process, system, and stock layout for operational efficiency.
What will you be doing?
- Perform cycle count tasks according to schedule (initially for one contract, likely expanding to multiple customers).
- Work on the warehouse floor to gain a good understanding of processes.
- Assist in running customer stock takes.
- Monitor and respond to customer queries.
- Conduct empty location checks.
- Provide system knowledge and troubleshoot operations.
- Investigate all queries and adjustments prior to action.
- Complete spot checks on picking activities and goods‑in activities.
About You
- Ability to complete cycle counting on schedule and investigate variances.
- Experience operating MHE – VNA, RT, HLOP.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to understand and interpret datasets.
- Effective workload management, meeting strict deadlines.
- Adaptability to a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.
- Experience with CargoWrite or Red Prairie WMS applications at Basic Plus level or equivalent.
