Warehouse Team Lead – Raunds
DSV is building the world’s leading logistics and transport network and is looking for a Warehouse Team Lead to manage day‑to‑day operations and lead a team of operators.
Responsibilities
- Support the Management Team with the day‑to‑day operation of the warehouse and ensure efficient operation to meet business targets.
- Provide line management to the team, coordinating workloads and monitoring performance to meet production targets, KPIs and quality standards.
- Assist in running an efficient warehouse operation, training new operatives, maintaining accurate inventories and stock movements, and organising regular stock takes.
- Identify system improvements, produce regular reports and statistics, and support future capacity planning.
- Maintain health and safety standards, manual handling procedures, vehicle, machinery and equipment maintenance, and security.
- Act up for management to cover leave and absence as required.
People Management
- Manage time and attendance for operatives and support supervisory issues.
- Communicate with staff regularly to set priorities and operational requirements.
- Report progress, key achievements and concerns to the Warehouse Supervisor and Manager.
- Liaise with customers, suppliers and transport companies as needed.
- Comply with health, safety and environmental policies.
- Engage in grievance and disciplinary hearings and conduct welfare meetings.
Experience
- Team Leader skills – motivate, develop and supervise others.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good IT skills – spreadsheets, databases and warehouse systems.
- Analytical and numerical.
- Understanding of customer deliverables and impact of failure / cost of poor quality.
- Good planning skills and ability to meet targets and deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail.
Skills and Competencies
- GCSE A‑C, NVQ Level 2 – supervisory qualification advantageous.
- Warehouse Team Leader experience with supervising and motivating a team.
- Knowledge of health and safety and security requirements.
- Understanding of lean techniques advantageous.
