Role: Inventory Operator (Stock Controller)
Location: Stoke on Trent
Shifts/Hours: Mon-Fri, 37.5 hours per week
DSV is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Inventory Operator (Stock Controller) to join our warehouse operations team in Stoke on Trent. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining accurate inventory levels, ensuring stock integrity, and supporting smooth day-to-day warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced logistics environment where accuracy and efficiency are key.
What will you be doing?
- Maintain accurate stock records and investigate any discrepancies.
- Carry out regular stock checks, cycle counts, and full inventory audits.
- Support with stock reconciliation between WMS and physical inventory.
- Identify and report stock accuracy issues promptly to the Stock Supervisor.
- Ensure that all stock movements are recorded accurately in the Warehouse Management System.
- Liaise with warehouse, customer service, and operations teams to resolve stock-related queries.
- Support with inbound and outbound stock investigations when required.
- Maintain housekeeping standards within stock control areas.
- Provide accurate reporting and assist with continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and company procedures at all times.
About You
- Previous experience in stock control or inventory management within a warehouse environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is essential.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Confident working independently and managing own workload.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Knowledge of logistics and warehouse operations.
