DSV are looking for Commercial Vehicle Technicians to maintain, inspect, repair DSV and external customers’ vehicles and trailers to prescribed standards in accordance with the Department for Transport (DFT), manufacturer, and operator licence.

What will you be doing?

  • Carry out periodic safety inspections on commercial vehicles and trailers to DVSA inspection manual standards.
  • Prepare (and present where appropriate licence held) commercial vehicles and trailers for annual MOT inspections.
  • Carry out fault diagnosis and repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
  • Carry out welding, fabrication and body repairs as required.
  • Attend broken down or accident damaged vehicles and effect permanent or temporary repairs as required.
  • Carry out scheduled service work as per manufacturers guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records of each repair performed ensuring that all statistics and legal information are produced, and workshop computer systems updated.
  • Collaborate with supervisors/management to plan repairs and maintenance with regular updates on progress.
  • Ensure all relevant legislation along with health and safety procedures are adhered to.
  • Maintain work areas in a safe and clean condition.
  • Attend all required training courses.

  • Relevant qualifications in relation to the position.
  • Computer literate.
  • Good understanding of English language.
