We are seeking a candidate with extensive experience in finance or tax, who possesses strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of UK and Ireland tax regulations and compliance requirements. The candidate will report to the country CFO and work closely with country management and group tax and compliance functions. Responsibilities
- Oversee tax reporting and manage statutory obligations.
- Drive compliance with local and international regulations.
- Optimize tax strategies and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Coordinate tax and financial compliance team.
- Act as point of contact for Group and Regional tax experts.
- Support business leads for regulatory changes and adaptation processes.
- Oversee production and completion of all tax returns and declarative statements.
- Manage production and completion of all local GAAP and statutory reporting.
- Serve as first point of contact for Statutory Auditors, facilitating audits and providing necessary documentation and support.
- Report to Group Finance, including deferred tax calculations and finalisation of DSV tax tools.
- Act as contact person for Group Tax regarding tax optimisation projects in the UK and IE, working under supervision of Group Tax.
- Manage communications with external tax authorities and other public administrations.
- Lead and develop a team of professionals, providing guidance and support.
- Supervise VAT reporting and account reconciliation processes.
- Oversee ESG reporting initiatives.
- Work with Company Secretary for compliance with rules and regulations.
- Work on business cases related to creation of new entities, liquidation of entities, and property development.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in finance or tax, with a proven track record in managing tax and compliance functions.
- First-hand experience in managing statutory accounts, either in business or as an auditor.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field (preferred).
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office tools, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems, extraction of data for reporting.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, interpreting complex tax regulations.
- Deep understanding of HMRC compliance requirements, Risk Model and SOA.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Leadership experience managing teams and driving performance.
- Proactive mindset, ability to work independently, focus on problem-solving.
- Knowledge of current tax laws and regulations, commitment to staying updated.
