This is a senior, field-based leadership role responsible for planning, directing and continuously improving DSS's end-to-end recruitment operation. Reporting directly to the Director, you will own the full recruitment lifecycle from staffing strategy and sourcing through to assessment, placement, onboarding and retention while managing compliance, supplier relationships and pipeline performance. The role requires regular travel across London and the Midlands to meet candidates in person, attend client sites and depots, conduct in-person checks, and support operational activity on the ground.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a PAYE workforce, recruiting ahead of demand to minimize gaps.
  • Monitor the labour market and report on metrics such as time-to-fill, retention and source effectiveness.
  • Run targeted campaigns across Total Jobs and other channels; conduct face-to-face interviews and assessments at locations convenient to candidates; and maintain a pre-screened pipeline ready for deployment.
  • Manage third-party recruitment suppliers, setting performance expectations and ensuring compliance.
