The Role:
DSP are looking for a SQL Server DBA to join our team. This role will be within our managed services team delivering both support and project-based work for our customers. The role will be home based with occasional visits to customer sites or DSP offices. Existing Microsoft certifications are an advantage but with DSP’s position as a leading UK Gold Partner these can easily be picked up on the job.
Role & Responsibilities
As a key member of the Microsoft Delivery Team, your responsibilities will include:
- Troubleshooting and resolving incidents in line with defined SLAs.
- Performing root cause analysis of incidents.
- Implementing backup strategies to meet customers RPO.
- Assisting with the onboarding of new customers and maintaining documentation.
- Performing health checks on SQL Server.
- Being part of the established rotating 24/7 on-call rota.
Your Experience
3+ Years of SQL Server Database experience, with involvement in some or all the following areas:
- SQL Server Database Administration from SQL 2008 to SQL 2022.
- Knowledge of database backups, recovery, security and integrity.
- On-call troubleshooting.
- SQL DR and HA functionality including Availability Groups, Log Shipping and FCI.
- SQL Server Transactional Replication.
- Basic understanding of Networks, Windows OS and core services like Active Directory, DNS.
- Familiarity with SQL Server development tools (Management Studio and SQL Server Data Tools).
