We are looking for a talented, tenacious Junior Digital Producer or experienced AP to help find extraordinary real-life survival stories for a new YouTube series. This role is all about story hunting. We need someone who instinctively knows what makes a gripping piece of human storytelling and who loves the chase of finding the right contributors, gaining trust and turning a lead into an unforgettable film.
Experience in similar roles - e.g. contributor finding and story research on YouTube or social first content such as People are Deep, LADbible Stories etc - is an advantage.
The role will involve:
- Researching and uncovering powerful real-life stories
- Tracing and contacting potential contributors
- Building relationships with contributors sensitively and confidently
- Conducting pre-interviews and helping shape stories editorially
- Identifying what makes someone a truly compelling on-screen contributor
- Working closely with the development and production team to help turn stories into standout digital films
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has brilliant contributor access skills
- Is proactive, resourceful and relentless when it comes to finding stories
- Has excellent instincts for emotionally engaging storytelling
- Understands how to find stories that will genuinely cut through online
- Is confident approaching people from all walks of life
- Has experience on digital/social factual content, documentary, human interest or contributor-led formats
- Can balance sensitivity with strong editorial judgement
- Is highly organised and good at managing multiple leads at once
