Overview

We are looking for a highly experienced Trade Compliance Specialist who can step in and deliver from day one. This hands‑on role requires deep knowledge of UK Export Control, customs, and global trade regulations. You will take ownership of compliance processes and act as the subject matter expert for the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Immediate Ownership
  • Lead all trade compliance activities with minimal supervision.
  • Ensure full adherence to UK Export Control and international trade regulations.
• Export Control & Licensing
  • Manage SPIRE / LITE applications and maintain export licences.
  • Classify goods (dual‑use, military) and advise on complex shipments.
• Risk & Compliance
  • Conduct due diligence and resolve compliance issues quickly.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and implement best practices.
• Stakeholder Engagement
  • Act as the go‑to expert for internal teams and external partners.
  • Deliver training and guidance to ensure compliance awareness.

About You

• Proven Experience
  • Minimum 3‑5+ years in trade compliance, ideally in aerospace, defence, or high‑value manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of UK Export Control, sanctions, and customs.

  • Ability to work independently and make decisions confidently.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
• Desirable
  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Familiarity with Incoterms and global trade regulations.
