About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Airfreight Export Team Lead to oversee and mentor a team of six export specialists. You will be responsible for day-to-day operational performance, compliance, service delivery, and continuous improvement initiatives within the export department. This role requires someone with deep industry expertise, strong people-management skills, and the confidence to lead in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of six Air Export Coordinators, ensuring performance excellence and high service standards.
- Oversee all air export operations, including quotations, bookings, documentation, and compliance with global and local regulations.
- Ensure full adherence to customs, aviation security, and IATA requirements.
- Foster strong relationships with airlines, suppliers, and key customers.
- Monitor KPI performance, drive process improvements, and contribute to strategic operational decisions.
- Manage escalations and provide technical expertise to support the team.
- Collaborate crossâfunctionally with import, road, warehouse, and global network teams.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years' experience in airfreight export operations (essential).
- Proven experience leading or supervising a team within a freight forwarding environment.
- Strong knowledge of IATA regulations, HMRC export procedures, and aviation security standards.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
