A procurement vendor management firm is seeking a Market Data Expert to join their team in NYC.
Work Model: hybrid, 4 days a week in office
Compensation: $110,000 to $160,000 base plus bonus
We are seeking a dynamic, results-oriented Manager to lead our Market Data Procurement Strategy efforts across private equity, investment banking, and asset management clients. In this high-impact role, you will serve as the in-house subject matter expert on research vendors, owning vendor relationships and driving end-to-end procurement strategy and execution. Examples of key vendors include ION Group, Pitchbook Data, Preqin Ltd, Gartner, Fitch, and Octus (Reorg).
You'll lead the full lifecycle: from vendor discovery and due diligence to commercial negotiation, contract execution, license analysis, and renewal management. This is a vendor-facing, consultative role that requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders. You'll play a pivotal role in shaping a fast-growing business line - ideal for someone with research vendor expertise and the ambition to build and lead.
What you will do:
- Own vendor relationships across research providers.
- Act as a subject matter expert for category of vendors for both our internal team and clients.
- Proactively manage the renewal process for our clients with their research market data vendors and ensure timely execution of contracts.
- Deliver tangible and measurable cost savings to our clients by utilizing key sourcing strategies including supplier consolidation, leveraged volume, competitive bidding, optimization, and fact-based negotiation techniques.
- Analyze usage data to reduce waste, optimize spend, and mitigate audit risk.
- Deliver insights and strategic recommendations, acting as a trusted advisor to client stakeholders.
