Do you have strong experience in manufacturing or production and have experience of team leading? We are looking for a proactive and hands-on Line Leader to join our late-shift team in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong production knowledge, mechanical competency, and a passion for leading a team to achieve high standards in quality, safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading a small team of Production & Packaging Operatives on the late shift.
- Setting up production lines, monitoring machine performance, and ensuring smooth operation throughout the shift.
- Ensuring all products are manufactured to the highest quality, following strict GMP, HACCP and food safety guidelines.
- Training, coaching and supporting new and existing team members.
- Monitoring output to ensure daily production targets are achieved.
- Completing accurate documentation and maintaining batch records.
- Ensuring compliance with health & safety requirements, escalating issues where needed.
- Supporting continuous improvement and efficient ways of working.
- Communicating clearly with supervisors and the wider team to maintain shift handover standards.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience working in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Previous line leader, team leader or senior operative experience.
- Knowledge of food safety standards, GMP and HACCP (training can be provided).
- Mechanical aptitude for basic troubleshooting and machine operation.
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Good numeracy skills for data recording and basic calculations.
- Ability to work independently and take accountability for shift performance.
- A positive, proactive attitude and the ability to motivate others.
- Willingness to be hands-on and lead by example.
Role Requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods and handle light-to-moderate lifting.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and target-driven environment.
- Reliability and commitment to regular late-shift working hours (2pm–10:30pm).
