DSA is looking for an experienced Party Wall Surveyor to join our London office and help grow our developing party wall service. This is a senior role, so the successful candidate must be confident running matters independently, advising clients direct, and handling projects from instruction through to award. You will work closely with our structural and civil engineering teams across the wider DSA business.
Your work will include:
- Party Wall Matters
- Reviewing construction drawings to identify notifiable works.
- Preparing and serving Party Wall Notices.
- Drafting, negotiating, and reviewing Party Wall Awards.
- Conducting property inspections and preparing Schedules of Condition.
- Acting as Building Owner's, Adjoining Owner's or Agreed Surveyor.
- Neighbourly Matters & Boundary Issues
- Negotiating access licences and agreements (e.g., crane & scaffold licences).
- Researching and assessing title documents, boundaries, and easements.
- Advising on rights of access and potential disputes.
- Technical Work & Project Management
- Maintaining accurate records and project trackers.
- Reviewing building methods and construction documents.
- Assisting in business growth by networking with industry professionals.
Qualifications and skills:
- Experience: Minimum 5+ years as a Party Wall Surveyor, including conducting schedule of condition surveys.
- Strong understanding of the Party Wall etc. Act 1996 and property law.
- Ability to read construction drawings and understand building methods.
- Proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, and ideally AutoCAD.
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle deadlines under pressure.
- Willingness to attend CPD events and stay up to date with industry changes.
- Desire to contribute to team expansion & leadership.
- Member of the Faculty of Party Wall Surveyors, MFPWS, or equivalent experience preferred.
- RICS, CIOB or similar professional membership beneficial but not essential.
- Full UK driving licence required.
Location and travel:
- London based role.
- Working with the wider DSA team across our UK offices.
- Willingness to travel across the country to support DSA projects and offices as required.
