AAT Trainee Accountant

The Role We currently have a vacancy for an AAT Trainee Accountant to join our talented team. We are a rapidly growing firm, so this is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and ambitious individual who wants to start their accountancy career in a dynamic and stimulating environment. To further develop your technical abilities, your core responsibilities at work will revolve around allowing you to gain experience in a wide variety of specialities including audit and accounts, corporate tax, personal tax, and ad hoc client led work. Your core responsibilities will include: Preparing accounts and tax returns for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies; Providing bookkeeping and VAT work to a range of clients; Assisting senior staff members with audit work; Dealing with ad hoc queries and occasional visits to client premises. Your Manager will work closely with you to support you through your development and you will be allocated a member of the team who will provide additional day to day guidance and help. The Benefits This role is full-time permanent. We offer a competitive starting salary from £18,000/per annum (FTE). Flexible working arrangements. 20 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), increasing to 25 days with length of service. You will receive fully funded training and support both within the firm at Abingdon and Witney College (AAT), including study leave and time off for exams. Enhanced Statutory Maternity Pay. Opportunities for career progression. The Person We\’re looking for positive and self-motivated candidates. Along with your ability and willingness to undertake and succeed in a range of professional studies, you\’ll ideally have: Minimum of 5 GCSE\’s, including Maths and English at grade 5 (C) or above. Good IT skills, including the use of Excel. Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team. Relevant work experience is preferable but not essential.
