Are you an experienced Shift Manager with a strong focus on safety and a knack for leading teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment?
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our site operations team. Our core business values revolve around safety and robust risk assessments, ensuring a secure and efficient workplace for everyone. Therefore, this is a critical role where you will be instrumental in managing production shifts, ensuring operational excellence, and upholding our high safety standards.
The successful candidate would be leading, motivating, and developing their shift team to achieve production targets and maintain a positive work environment whilst championing our safety culture, conducting, and support writing and implementing risk assessments, and ensuring strict adherence to all health and safety protocols. You will utilise your engineering experience to manage and coordinate external contractors on site, as well as optimising production processes to drive efficiency, continuous improvement, and problem-solving on your shift.
This is a fantastic role in one of most engaged sites, and therefore you will be interacting with a variety of stakeholders including planners, the customer service team site leadership to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery.

About You

  • H & S conscious individual with clear knowledge and understanding of requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing role at supervisor level
  • A good understanding of MRP systems and Microsoft Excel
  • Great attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Proven experience of leading teams forward to achieve results
  • Previous experience in HR processes
  • Relevant qualifications i.e. IOSH Managing Safety, etc – desirable but not essential

Location: Monday to Friday based in our site in Smethwick, near Birmingham.
This role is 37.5 hours per week working double day shifts on a rotating rota.
