DS Smith Burscough are looking to appoint a Process Engineer (Conversion) to work closely with the Production Manager - Conversion and Process Engineer - Print to ensure the site production plan is met.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for:

  • Setting and maintaining all quality assurance and process controls in the manufacturing process and following through the actions in a timely manner with the relevant personnel

  • Responsible for working with the Production Manager (Conversion) and Shift Managers to ensure ongoing continuous improvement and adherence to process

  • Custodian of the DS Smith process control standards on site

  • Responsible for reviewing machine up and down time in order to continually improve uptime and process reliability

  • Responsible for Operator asset care adherence to minimise unplanned downtime

  • Identifying and implementing process improvements to maximise throughput.

Requirements

•Engineering / Science Degree or equivalent (preferable)

•Experience of Process Engineering required

•Strong understanding of Lean process and experience in lean manufacturing environment (DS Smith Way / Six Sigma)

•Experience of Converting assets (preferable)

•Good analytical and communication skills

The hours for this role are 40 per week Monday to Friday.
