TMS (Total Marketing Support) are a subsidiary company of DS Smith. TMS provide Point of Sale Marketing solutions for leading brands as well as specialised packaging solutions.
We are looking for a Data Manager to join us here at TMS. This position plays a critical role within TMS, shaping how data is governed, integrated, and used across the organisation. Reporting to the Head of Technology, you will be responsible for ensuring TMS data assets and management information are accurate, secure, and strategically leveraged to support operational performance, customer insight, and business growth.
Working closely with the Digital Enablement Lead and key stakeholders across TMS and the wider DS Smith Group, you will define and deliver a robust data strategy aligned to Group standards. This is a hands‑on role with strategic influence, combining data governance, architecture, reporting, and enablement to help drive a more data‑driven culture across the business.
Role Responsibilities- Develop and maintain a TMS data strategy aligned with DS Smith Group frameworks.
- Design and oversee scalable, secure data architectures and integrations.
- Implement data governance policies, ensuring data quality, consistency, and GDPR compliance.
- Lead the delivery of data solutions, pipelines, and system integrations.
- Own and continuously improve management information, dashboards, and operational reporting.
- Define and monitor KPIs related to data quality, usage, and business impact.
- Act as a key liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Promote data literacy and support teams in making data‑driven decisions.
- Support digital transformation and change initiatives relating to data systems and processes.
- Represent TMS in DS Smith Group data governance forums and manage third‑party data vendors.
- Proven experience in data management, analytics, or data leadership roles.
- Strong knowledge of data architecture, modelling, integration, and governance.
- Experience delivering dashboards, management information, and operational reporting.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and translate business needs into data solutions.
- Strong understanding of data protection, compliance, and governance frameworks.
- Degree in Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and modern data architectures.
- Exposure to manufacturing, logistics, or supply chain data environments.
- Data management or governance certifications.
