The HSER Governance, Assurance & Improvement Business Partner supports the Head of UKIP HSER and the wider HSER function in delivering the UK & Ireland Packaging HSER strategy. This home-based, mobile role operates across all UK & Ireland sites, ensuring robust HSER governance, effective assurance, and delivery of improvement initiatives aligned to the HSER plan. You will develop, lead, and monitor the UK & Ireland HSER governance framework, ensuring compliance with legislative, customer, and management system requirements. Working closely with operations, HR, and the wider HSER community, you will oversee HSER assurance programmes, manage performance data and reporting, support occupational health surveillance, and drive standardisation and continuous improvement across the business.
Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of the UK & Ireland HSER strategic and improvement plans
- Manage the UK&I P HSER improvement plan; monitor and report P HSER key performance indicators and provide reliable HSER data
- Be the main point of contact for all FMG audits and track actions to completion on time and in full
- Be the main HSER point of contact to support operations and HR with delivery of the occupational health assessment programme
- Track HSER actions to completion and provide clear, accurate performance reporting and KPIs
- Act as the HSER lead for occupational health surveillance in partnership with Operations and HR
- Area contact for developing and leading any Divisional / Regional / Group HSER, Environmental Sustainability or Risk initiatives at Sites
- Support site leadership to meet legislative, customer, and management system requirements
- Lead by example, promoting strong HSER leadership and spending time on site engaging with teams
Qualifications
- Proven experience developing and implementing HSER policies, standards, and management systems
- Strong communicator with the confidence to challenge constructively at all levels, and the ability to influence effectively in a multi-site, matrix environment
- Experienced in internal and external HSER audits and working with regulatory bodies
- Relevant Level 6 Health & Safety qualification and professional accreditation; Project management qualification desirable
- Experience in Paper, Packaging, or FMCG environments
- Additional qualifications in Environmental Management or Sustainability an advantage
- Experienced HSER professional with strong project management capability, able to make a positive impact within a challenging & dynamic working environment
