Drive and manage forklift operations within the DS Smith warehouse, ensuring safe and efficient handling of materials and support of supply chain processes.

Responsibilities

  • Fork-lift truck operations.
  • Ensure all activities within the warehouse (and external stores) are carried out in line with current Health & Safety SSOW and policies.
  • Ensure product received from manufacturing is correctly palletised through to the take-off lines.
  • Ensure that machine supplies are managed to their correct levels to minimise any machine downtime.
  • Ensure take-off lines do not back-up through effective movement of product to the loading bays or warehouse.
  • Use IRF scanning systems accurately to record product movements.
  • Load trailers effectively to maximise utilisation while respecting customer restrictions.
  • Support manufactured volume flow through effective post-manufacturing process controls to deliver product on-time, in-full to the customer.
