We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Operative to join one of our teams at Mercia Park, Swadlincote. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling various tasks within the warehouse, ensuring warehouse tasks are carried out efficiently whilst following all H&S procedures.

Responsibilities

  • To be accountable for own and others health and safety whilst at work, operating in line with SSOW (safe systems of work) and company procedures to enable a safe working environment.
  • To raise any unsafe acts seen immediately with individual(s) concerned and immediate reporting of health and safety incidents to management.
  • Achieve set productivity and performance targets ensuring consistent quality standards are met.
  • Using hand held terminals and printers to conduct warehouse tasks.
  • Carrying out daily warehouse activities using MHE to receive, putaway, pick and load pallets of stock for customer orders.
  • Carrying out daily warehouse activities on foot to putaway and pick customer orders into cages.
  • Carrying out daily warehouse production activities using semi-automated machinery to produce high quality packaging for customer orders.

Qualifications

  • Desirable - FLT License for Reach Truck & Counterbalance.
  • Desirable - Experience in a warehouse or production environment.
  • Desirable - Familiarity with warehouse management systems.
  • Ability to conduct and carry out warehouse and production tasks effectively.
  • Ability to lift objects safely and effectively.
  • Good health and safety knowledge.
  • Basic maths skills for inventory tasks.
  • Good attention to detail.

Location

Swadlincote

Working hours

Monday to Friday – AM (6am to 2.30pm) and PM (2.30pm to 11pm) working shifts - One week rotation Monday to Friday. NB. Currently there is an interim arrangement where the warehouse are working 11.30am to 8pm instead of 2.30pm-11pm.

Salary

Level 1 (£14.34 ph inc. Shift Premium) Level 2 (£16.34 ph inc. Shift Premium). Please note: Candidates who hold an FLT licence for Reach Truck and Counterbalance may be eligible for the Level 2 salary. If you do not have these qualifications, you will start on the Level 1 salary.
