DS Smith is a leading provider of sustainable packaging solutions, paper products, and recycling services. We are currently looking for a motivated and safety-focused Machine Operator to join our team in Louth.
About the Role
As a Machine Operator, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality operation of production machinery within our fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full accountability for your own and others' health and safety, working strictly in line with Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) and company procedures.
- Proactively challenge and report any unsafe acts or hazards, ensuring all incidents are escalated immediately.
- Operate machinery effectively to maximise efficiency and minimise downtime.
- Meet productivity and performance targets while maintaining consistent quality standards.
- Carry out routine maintenance and cleaning activities in line with planned schedules.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
Candidate Profile (Desirable)
- Experience operating high-speed production or packaging machinery.
- Strong commitment to Health & Safety best practice.
- Proactive approach to continuous improvement.
- Good understanding of quality standards and reporting procedures.
- Team player with strong communication skills.
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude.
- Basic understanding of paper and packaging processes.
- Good mechanical aptitude.
