We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Engineering Planner to join our team at our Blunham site. This is a pivotal role within the engineering function, responsible for ensuring all maintenance and engineering activities are effectively planned, scheduled, and executed to the highest standards. Working closely with the Engineering Manager and Engineering Team Leader you will play a key role in driving efficiency, reliability, and continuous improvement across the site.

Role responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve maintenance plans and schedules
  • Coordinate planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and corrective work
  • Prioritise tasks in line with operational needs and business objectives
  • Plan and allocate labour, materials, tools, and equipment effectively
  • Liaise with stores and procurement to ensure parts availability
  • Track progress against plans, identifying gaps and driving corrective actions
  • Validate completion of work orders, ensuring accurate documentation and closure
  • Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with site standards
  • Identify risks to production and engineering activities and implement mitigation plans
  • Analyse data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities
  • Produce reports on performance, progress, and key metrics
  • Act as a key link between engineering, operations, and external contractors
  • Plan and coordinate contractor activities, ensuring compliance with site requirements

  • Previous experience in an engineering or maintenance planning role
  • Strong organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to analyse data and make informed decisions
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience working cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience using SAP PM or a similar maintenance management system (desirable)
  • Knowledge of CMMS systems and maintenance planning methodologies (desirable)
  • Experience within manufacturing, packaging, or FMCG environments (desirable)
