Job Description
We are recruiting permanent HGV Class 1 drivers to join us at Morrisons RDC in Sittingbourne to support our General Haulage Operations. This role is ideal for a HGV driver who takes pride in safe driving, excellent customer service and dependable delivery standards.
The roles are full time, working on a permanent basis and ideal shift pattern available is:
- Friday to Tuesday Nights
- Thursday to Monday Nights
Start times vary between 20:00 - 04:00. We offer flexibility in shift patterns, so if these start dates and times don't quite suit your availability, let us know what you're looking for, we'll do our best to accommodate your preferences.
Pay Rates:
We have increased our pay rates, with rates now ranging from £16.35 to £18.96 per hour, depending on shift giving you even more reason to build your driving career with us.
- Mon-Fri Night Shift - £16.35 per hour
- Saturday and Sunday Night Shift - £18.65 per hour
- Bank Holidays - £18.96 per hour
On top of base salary our HGV Drivers will be entitled to £5 per shift tax-free meal allowance, and £25 per night out tax-free allowance (if applicable).
Driver Responsibilities:
- General Haulage with Curtainside trailers, to Distribution Centres and Stores
- Well planned multi-drop deliveries within a 125 mile radius
- No requirement for Manual Handling
- Trunking Opportunities available depending on availability
- Completing all necessary vehicle checks and documentation
- Maintaining high levels of safety, compliance, and professionalism
- Working closely with the transport team to ensure smooth operations
- Adhere to Driver's hours, WTD, and tachograph legislation.
Qualifications
You should hold a valid C+E Licence and ideally have a minimum of 6 months HGV Class 1 driving experience (We will consider New Pass Drivers). No more than 6 points and no DD/DR Code convictions. Hold a current valid DCPC.
