This is a high-impact, strategic leadership role supporting one of the UK's most prominent facial cosmetic surgeons and entrepreneurial founders. DS Recruitment has been exclusively retained to find a strategic, commercially-focused Group Finance Director / Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for a profitable, founder-led multi-entity group in a phase of significant growth and opportunity. This isn’t a traditional Finance Director role — it’s a high-leverage, hands-on opportunity to shape financial architecture and influence long-term strategy across a diverse portfolio, including:
- Private medical practice and healthcare
- Healthcare property and consulting rooms
- Property investment and short-let portfolio
- Family office and investment ventures
- High-growth patent licensing and biotechnology ventures
Reporting directly to the Founder, you’ll build and lead the finance function, drive commercial strategy for ventures worth £10-£100m, and develop the systems that enable scalable decision-making.
What You’ll Do
- Commercial Strategy & Business Partnering (40%)
- Lead commercial and financial strategy across all group entities, including pricing, margin optimisation, and revenue growth
- Build investment-grade financial models and business cases for property development, IP, and biotech projects
- Develop KPI dashboards, management reporting, and provide scenario planning for capital allocation decisions
- Business partnering with operational leaders across healthcare, property, and investment portfolios
- Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) (40%)
- Build and lead a world-class finance function with timely management accounts (within 10 days)
- Implement entity-level P&Ls, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting
- Maintain cash-flow forecasts and working capital management with >95% accuracy
- Ensure financial controls, audit readiness, and governance across all entities
- Family Office & Investment Oversight (20%)
- Consolidated financial reporting across operating businesses, property portfolio, and investment holdings
- Support asset allocation, tax planning (corporate and personal), and treasury management
- Oversee philanthropic financial management and foundation administration
What We’re Looking For
- 7-10+ years in senior finance leadership roles (Finance Director, CFO, Group Financial Controller, or equivalent)
- Multi-entity and group consolidation experience across different sectors
- Background in private equity, multi-site healthcare, hospitality, luxury services, or property-backed groups is highly preferred
- Experience presenting financial strategy to founders, boards, private equity, or investors
- Proven ability to scale businesses from £5m-£20m+ revenue
- Track record in financial transformation and building finance functions
Technical Skills
- Expert in financial modelling, DCF analysis, sensitivity analysis, and scenario planning
- Advanced Excel / Google Sheets and financial systems (Xero, Sage, NetSuite, or similar)
- Experience with dashboards and business intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and financial controls
