The Bus Aide will help students board the bus, depart, and arrive safely at their destination. Maintaining a safe environment for students and ensuring the Driver can focus on driving responsibilities are the most important tasks.
What We Offer

- $18.00 per hour
- Split shifts: 5:30 am - 9:00 am & 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm (exact hours depend on assigned route)

Responsibilities
- Safely assist students as needed, including helping them enter and exit the vehicle, using lap and shoulder belts, and securing them in car seats and booster seats.
- Lifting may be required.
- Monitor student behavior to provide appropriate guidance, feedback, and direction.
- Report unsafe and inappropriate student behavior to management and implement corrective steps as assigned.
- Communicate effectively and clearly in English with students, parents, teachers, and Van Pool staff.
- Use Van Pool’s two-way radio system for effective communication.
- Safely install car seats and booster seats.
- Follow written and verbal directions and instructions from supervisors.
- Work effectively with school-age children, including those with special needs.
Qualifications
- Age 18 or older.
- Ability to pass a background check, CORI/SORI, and drug screen.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (spoken and written).
- Physical capability to safely install car seats and booster seats.
