We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for Registered Nurses (RGN, RMN or RNLD), Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists or Paramedics in Braintree who are looking for a change in direction and to use their skills and knowledge in a different way, as a Functional Assessor.
We’re looking for people with the compassion and experience to understand claimants’ health conditions/disabilities and how they impact their lives. And we need people who can balance that with good computer skills, impartiality and strong time management.
The role involves conducting initial reviews, paper-based reviews, face-to-face, video or telephone assessments to evaluate how a PIP claimant’s health condition or disability affects their day-to-day life. You will create a report following each assessment detailing an individual’s ability to carry out daily living activities and analyse and interpret clinical information and supporting evidence. You will create three comprehensive 3,000-4,000-word reports of the evidence gathered for each claimant, each day.
This is a Hybrid role which means you’ll be based at home and assigned to work from your nearest assessment centre on a rota basis to deliver face-to-face assessments. You’ll spend additional time in centres or office locations to catch up with your manager and wider team or attend in-person training sessions.
Full training is provided with an initial 12 week fully paid training programme (Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm) with time set aside for self-development learning. We also have 3 day and 4-day training options available. Ongoing mentorship and support are provided and excellent career development opportunities are available.
Full and part time roles are available (minimum 3 days per week) with a starting salary of £37,500.00 per annum (pro rata for part-time). There are also 2 pay increases as you go through the initial training.
We are inviting applications from Registered Nurses (RGN, RMN or RNLD), Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists or Paramedics who meet the following criteria:
- One year's post-registration experience as a nurse, occupational therapist, physiotherapist or paramedic
- Fully registered with a relevant UK regulatory body (NMC, HCPC or other), without restriction or conditions and with a valid PIN
- Excellent observational and communication skills, giving you the ability to listen, empathise and dig deeper
- The ability to type at a minimum of 30 words per minute
- Demonstrable experience with using IT and Microsoft Office, as well as remotely accessing systems such as MS Teams
