Job Description

We are currently recruiting on behalf of one of the UK’s leading providers of behavioural care and specialist support services for an Occupational Therapist to join the team within a 32 bedded locked mental health service in Dewsbury.

The hospital supports two different service user groups:

A 16 bed ward focusing on the active rehabilitation and recovery of men with mental health issues. The emphasis is on stabilising mental health, reducing risks and enhancing independent living skills, with a view to reintegration into the community or supportive living.

A Ward which is a 16 bed ward that supports men with neuro-cognitive disorders namely, dementia, and behaviours that challenge. Many have a number of physical heath needs

Providing quality, inspiring innovative practice and delivering value is what the team set out to achieve, enabling patients with dementia and mental health to receive a truly integrated and holistic approach to their treatment and care, regardless of complexity or severity, thanks to the knowledge and expertise of our multidisciplinary clinical teams.

The post holder will be qualified and registered with HCPC with preferred experience in dementia and mental health care. The successful candidate will be expected to have excellent interpersonal skills when liaising with members of the multi-disciplinary team, external agencies and organisations, patients and relatives.

Candidates will be expected to demonstrate genuine commitment and enthusiasm for working with this client group.

This is a full time permanent post and offers a salary of £38,000 per annum, plus
