Registered Nurse Functional Assessor

Starting Salary

£40,850 (PIP) to £43,750 (WCA) per annum plus bonus scheme and benefits.

Location

Hybrid (office and home working) – Newport.

Hours

Monday to Friday 9 – 5 (no nights, weekends or shifts).

Role Overview

We are recruiting for registered Nurses (RGN, RMN, RNLD), Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists (OTs) in Newport who want to use and build upon their clinical skills and knowledge and benefit from an excellent work‑life balance and professional development that a career as a Functional Assessor can give you.

Key Responsibilities

• Create comprehensive reports based on file-work, face‑to‑face and telephone/video assessments with customers regarding PIP or ESA benefits.
• Assess how a disability affects a customer’s day‑to‑day life and work‑related activities.
• Participate in ongoing CPD, with over 100 hours protected per annum, revalidation support, and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1‑year post‑qualification experience and registration in the UK for nurses, occupational therapists or physiotherapists.
• Fully registered with the relevant UK regulatory body (NMC, HCPC or other) without restriction or conditions and holding a valid PIN.
• Excellent observational and communication skills, able to listen, empathise and dig deeper.
• Typing speed of at least 30 words per minute.
