Starting Salary: £39,000 (PIP) £41,500 (WCA) per annum + bonus scheme and benefits.

Location: Hybrid (office and home working) Luton.

Hours: Monday to Friday 9 – 5.

We are recruiting registered Nurses (RGN, RMN, RNLD), Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists (OTs) in Luton who want to use and build upon their clinical skills and knowledge and benefit from the excellent work life balance and professional development that a career as a Functional Assessor can give you.

We are seeking applications from clinicians with a minimum of 1-year post-qualification experience and registration in the UK. In this role you will grow your medical knowledge of a wide variety of medical, cognitive and mental health conditions.

Responsibilities
  • Undertake a combination of file‑work, face‑to‑face and telephone/video assessments with customers in relation to PIP or ESA benefits and provide comprehensive reports to enable decision makers at DWP to make informed decisions regarding benefit claims.
  • Focus assessments on how a disability affects a customer’s day‑to‑day life and performing work‑related activities.
  • Participate in comprehensive training and ongoing CPD with over 100 hours protected per annum, support with revalidation, and opportunities to develop your career within the organisation.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • One year’s post‑registration experience as a nurse, occupational therapist or physiotherapist.
  • Fully registered with a relevant UK regulatory body (NMC, HCPC or other) without restriction or conditions and with a valid PIN.
  • Excellent observational and communication skills, ability to listen, empathise and dig deeper.
  • Ability to type at a minimum of 30 words per minute.
Package & Benefits
  • Salary: £39,000 – £41,500 per annum; £1,000 salary uplift after first 6 months and a further £1,000 after 12 months.
  • Up to 10% quality and performance bonus once you’re an Approved Functional Assessor.
  • Hybrid position with a minimum of 2 days per week at one of our consultation centres.
