Salary Grade 9, £34,435 to £37,488 per annum
Location County Hall, Newport, Isle of Wight
Fixed term contract for 18 months (maternity cover)
This role is office-based; however, it also offers some agile or remote working (we are happy to provide flexibility of working location including working from home with occasional attendance in the office as required)
Part-time working arrangements and/or job-share opportunities will also be considered

We are looking for a motivated and experienced finance professional to join our friendly and supportive Management Accounting Team on an 18-month fixed-term basis covering maternity leave. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your career while supporting vital Adult Social Care, Housing and Public Health services that help improve the lives of Island residents.
Working closely with budget managers and the Finance Business Partner, you will provide financial advice, budget monitoring, analysis and reporting to support informed decision-making and sound financial management across a varied portfolio of services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing monthly budget monitoring reports and forecasts
- Analysing financial information and identifying budget variances
- Providing financial advice and support to budget managers
- Maintaining budgets and ensuring accurate financial records
- Completing reconciliations, statutory returns and grant claims as required
We are looking for someone with:
- Strong Excel, numeracy, and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
- A keen eye for detail and the ability to meet deadlines
- Experience of budget monitoring and financial analysis
- AAT qualification (or equivalent) or relevant finance experience
