In this Data Analyst role, you will support onboarding, management, and maintenance of datasets used by traders and quantitative researchers. You will collaborate with data strategists, data engineers, and cross-functional teams across technology, operations, research, and risk management in a fast-paced environment. Your work will focus on profiling datasets, assessing quality, and surfacing insights to guide front-office decisions. You will help ensure data assets are well-described and discoverable, enabling global teams to work efficiently. Responsibilities
- Profile new datasets to understand content and storage needs for data engineering
- Collect and analyze data quality metrics (completeness, validity, accuracy, timeliness, consistency)
- Curate data catalog entries for discoverability of research data assets
- Engage with global front office teams to support datasets through their lifecycle and manage vendor communications
- Monitor and resolve production data issues with cross-team collaboration
- Identify opportunities to improve datasets and data management processes
Key requirements
- 1-2 years of relevant experience
- Foundational knowledge of financial instruments and market data symbology
- Proficiency with SQL and Python for exploratory data analysis (PySpark, pandas, Jupyter)
- Ability to document and explain complex data analysis findings
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and with others
