The DRVN Automotive Group are recruiting exclusively for an EE System and Validation Engineer to join an exceptional automotive Electrical Engineering team to work on the most exciting programmes announced to date.

Responsibilities

  • Follow the quality, health, safety, and all policies of the company.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing to agree feasible manufacturing solutions and to control the engineering change process.
  • Manage documentation as part of change management process for existing systems.
  • Complete design verification and function sign off in line with project deadlines.
  • Own the electrical system design requirements, functions and performance and ensure they are tested and validated throughout the development life cycle of the vehicle.
  • Support in the legislative, validation and certification of the vehicle.
  • Lead system review, verification & validation activities including FMEAs, FuSa, test planning and functionality reviews throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Lead in the planning and overseeing the building of lab cars, HiL and test rigs required to carry out the development, testing and validation of electronic modules on both component and whole vehicle electrical systems.
  • Develop test and validation procedures and specifications.
  • Be the EE representative in meetings with customers, suppliers, managers and other section leaders and engineers.
  • Ensure any DFMEAs, DVPs and Quality Concern Resolution are implemented and met.
  • Prepare and maintain Open Issues decks and other reporting material as required by the project.
  • Participate in resolving any design/manufacturing issues when identified.
  • Support idea generation and problem resolution through day-to-day working and structured Design Reviews.

Essential Skills

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with proven experience.
  • 3 – 5 years proven experience of the whole development life cycle from electrical system requirements through to production within an Automotive setting or with an OEM or tier 1 supplier.
  • Experience in whole vehicle electrical systems testing, commissioning and homologation.
  • Strong understanding of system architecture, design, and integration methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of Vector toolset – CANape, CANoe & CANalyzer.
  • Strong computer skills, familiarity with Microsoft Office, Project Manager, and a rounded understanding of CAE tool sets.
  • Proficiency in requirements management tools and system modelling techniques.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects.
  • Hands-on, team-oriented individual possessing strong leadership, problem-solving and analytical skills who is willing to take on a multitude of tasks.
  • Understanding importance of managing engineering change requests and claim management.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Knowledge of ISO standards 26262, 21434, 16750 & 16949.
  • Excels in organisational skills and time management.
  • A drive to learn and improve at every opportunity with willingness to support others.
  • Positive attitude towards mastering challenges and changes.
  • Must have IDLR/Full Rights to Work in UK - Sponsorship or Work Permits will not be accepted/ provided.

Desirable

  • Exposure in vehicle level EMC testing & EMI fault diagnosis.
  • Electrical component development experience.
  • Working knowledge of GPDS, DVP, FMEA and APQP.
  • Exposure to concerns tools such as JIRA.
  • Have used development life cycle tools such as JAMA, Enterprise Architect or similar.
