We are looking for an experienced Payroll Senior to join our established Payroll team.
This is an opportunity for a knowledgeable, proactive payroll professional who wants to contribute fully to our already experienced team.
This role is suited to an experienced payroll professional who is passionate about delivering exceptional client service and enjoys working in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
The successful candidate will bring in-depth payroll knowledge and experience, take ownership of their responsibilities and work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure payrolls are processed accurately, compliantly and on time.
Payroll is a specialist discipline where consistency, accuracy and technical knowledge are fundamental.

The Role
Working as part of our experienced payroll team, you will contribute to the processing and management of payroll for a wide range of clients across multiple sectors within the SME market.
The team works collaboratively, sharing responsibilities and applying consistent standards across all payrolls.
Every member of the team will play an important role in ensuring payrolls are delivered accurately, efficiently and within strict deadlines.
Your duties will include
- Processing weekly, fortnightly, four-weekly and monthly payrolls accurately and within agreed deadlines.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver a seamless payroll service across the client base.
- Taking ownership of allocated responsibilities while supporting the wider team to achieve shared objectives.
- Processing statutory payments, including SSP, SMP, SPP and SAP.
- Managing pension auto-enrolment duties and pension submissions.
- Preparing and submit RTI returns and assist with year-end payroll processes.
- Liaising confidently with clients, HMRC and pension providers to resolve payroll queries.
- Ensuring payrolls remain compliant with current legislation and HMRC requirements.
- Reviewing payroll information to maintain consistently high standards of accuracy and quality.
- Understanding and embracing payroll technology, digital systems and automation opportunities.
- Helping assess current departmental procedures and identify practical improvements to workflows, controls and processing methods.
- Contributing ideas that improve efficiency, reduce duplication, strengthen consistency and support the continued development of the payroll department.
- Supporting colleagues by sharing knowledge, encouraging best practice and maintaining a collaborative, positive working environment.

- Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel. Experience of IRIS Payroll Professional or Bright pay would be advantageous but is not essential.
