Lead by an experienced Sales Manager and supportive Branch Manager, our Small-Mid Ag & Turf sales team are looking for a proactive and hands‑on Sales Consultant to join our Ashburton team. You’ll focus on bringing the premium range of John Deere 1 – 6 series tractor solutions to the local market and supporting agriculture in Canterbury. Whether you’re a seasoned Ag salesperson, or more used to being in the driver’s seat putting similar sized tractors to work on the farm, this role will see you combining your technical and industry knowledge with your relationship building skills to grow and support our customer base in the region.
About the Role
Actively engaging with customers to understand their individual needs and provide quality advice on the suitability of our range of 1 – 6 series tractors.
Managing an existing client base to further develop relationships, as well as proactively generating new business. You won’t be afraid to drive up driveways and will be curious to understand our customers business needs!
Being an outstanding brand ambassador, who truly understands, believes in and can communicate the value proposition of this trusted brand.
Running demonstrations and customer events where you’ll engage with a range of customers with different challenges and needs.
Implementing regular call cycles and maintaining sales documentation.
You’ll also be supported to undertake continual training and development to ensure you’re ahead of the game with new product and technology developments.
About You
Demonstrated experience and knowledge of NZ’s agricultural industry.
Sound experience with modern small to mid-size tractors and management technology systems.
2+ years of proven sales experience is desirable.
Exceptional customer service and relationship management skills.
Organisation and drive to successfully manage your time to achieve the best sales outcomes.
Competence using IT systems with the ability to pick up new programs quickly.
Be a team player and help maintain our positive working environment.
A track‑record of delivery and an eagerness to go above and beyond for your customers.
