As an Assistant Project Manager, you will support the successful delivery of engineering projects across their full lifecycle. Working closely with Project Managers and technical teams, you will be actively involved in the day-to-day delivery of both full projects and small work packages, helping to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards. This role is ideal for someone looking to build a long-term career in project management within a technically complex and fast-paced environment, offering hands-on experience and clear opportunities for development and progression.

What You Will Do

  • Support Project Managers in planning, executing and closing projects, including the management and delivery of defined work packages or smaller standalone projects.
  • Maintain project plans, schedules and key documentation.
  • Track progress against milestones, budgets and deliverables.
  • Coordinate with engineering, production and support teams to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Coordinate with Project Management Office with monthly project reporting cycle.
  • Identify and escalate risks, issues and dependencies in a timely manner.
  • Support customer and stakeholder communication, including reporting and updates.
  • Assist with resource planning and workload coordination.
  • Ensure compliance with internal processes, governance and quality standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of project management practices.

What you will need

  • Degree (or equivalent experience) in Engineering, Project Management or a related field.
  • Experience supporting delivery of larger projects or experience delivering smaller projects and defined work packages.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • A proactive mindset with a willingness to learn, take ownership and deliver with urgency.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel, Word and Project planning tools).
  • An interest in developing a career in project management.
