As a Goods In Inspector, you will play a key role in ensuring all incoming materials, components and products meet the required quality standards before being accepted into the business. Working closely with Stores, Production, Engineering and Supply Chain teams, you will help maintain high standards of quality, accuracy and traceability to support successful project delivery.
What You Will Do
- Inspect incoming goods, materials and components against drawings, specifications, purchase orders and quality requirements.
- Complete visual and dimensional inspections using a range of measuring equipment and inspection tools.
- Verify certification, paperwork and traceability documentation for incoming products.
- Identify, record and report non-conforming materials in line with company processes.
- Work with suppliers, Engineering and Quality teams to resolve quality concerns and support corrective actions.
- Accurately maintain inspection records and update internal systems.
- Support stock control and stores activities where required.
- Ensure compliance with company quality standards, health and safety requirements and customer expectations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities within Quality and Operations.
What you will need
- Previous experience in a Goods In, Inspection, Quality or Manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Experience using inspection and measuring equipment such as verniers, micrometers or gauges.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Competent IT skills and experience maintaining accurate records.
- Understanding of quality standards and inspection processes.
- Experience within engineering, manufacturing or defence environments would be advantageous.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and support the wider team.
