Job overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Management Accountant to support the Head of Finance across core finance operations, including month-end close, budgeting and forecasting, reporting, and systems/process improvements. This is a key role within a growing, multi-entity business, where you will take ownership of financial processes across 4 entities. You will play a critical part in shaping a scalable, efficient, and future-proof finance function, with a strong focus on automation and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Month-End & Management Accounting
- Prepare flash trading reports journals by working day 3
- Lead the month-end close process across multiple entities
- Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and month end journals (accruals, prepayments, deferred income, fixed assets, project costs allocations)
- Managing intercompany transactions and balances reconciliations
- Assisting with payroll & pension preparation and submission to HMRC and pension provider
- Managing and monitoring staff shared budgets: employee social funds, solicitors study fees, travel & subsistence, marketing spend
- Managing incoming finance inboxes
- Accounts Payable & Receivable Oversight
- Oversee & provide cover for accounts payable function (non-direct report), including:
- Processing purchases invoices, contractor invoices, expenses & credit cards transaction
- Bank reconciliations
- Managing supplier invoice approval workflow, including setting up and updating approval limits and credentials
- Preparation of weekly credit control reports
- Financial Operations & Controls
- Manage credit card processes & card holders limits
- Preparing VAT returns quarterly and bi-monthly for review
- Submission of invoice financing notifications
- Assisting with annual budgets and quarterly forecast preparation
- Prepare year end files and support for review for 4 entities
- Assisting with payroll year end close and reporting
- Preparing P11Ds and PSA reconciliations for review
- Assisting with client onboarding process
- Assisting with cash flow forecast
- Systems & Process Improvement
- Support ongoing finance transformation initiatives, including automation and reporting enhancements
- Assist in building financial dashboard robust reports and analysis across all entities
- Help implement scalable processes and robust financial controls
About You
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACCA / ACA/CIMA preferred)
- Minimum 3+ years’ finance experience, including 2+ years in management accounting
- Experience working in multi-entity environments
- Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work across multiple stakeholders and as part of a team
- Experience in using accounting software package: Xero
- Advanced Excel
