DrPA has been operating in secure environments since 2014 providing General Practitioner services and we are now growing to provide a complete healthcare service at Campsfield IRC by NHS England. This will be delivered directly or through a range of specialist partners who are experts in their field. We deliver our services based on our ethos of CARE:

Campsfield Immigration Removal Centre (IRC) is a secure facility designed to accommodate up to 160 male residents in both single and dual occupancy rooms. Residents are not permitted to leave the centre or access the local area. Consequently, facilities are provided entirely onsite.
The healthcare department provides services including primary care, mental health, substance misuse, pharmacy, dental, optometry, physiotherapy, podiatry, and audiology delivered by us or our specialist partners.
Join us at the beginning. Where possible, this role will be starting before the centre opens, undertaking induction, supporting set up of the department, and helping the service go live.
Job Summary: Join a new service at Campsfield focused on providing a high-quality service to the residents. Duties vary by the needs of the department with priorities agreed with the Head of Healthcare and Senior Clinical Lead. You will work with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver an evidence-based, person-centred, non-judgemental healthcare service. You will share knowledge and expertise to foster an open, learning environment and support professional development of the team. You will work closely with partners and stakeholders to drive continuous quality improvement and ensure healthcare records are maintained in accordance with governance policies.
Duties include:
- Complete medication rounds and dispense controlled medication
- Attend emergency response situations
- Triage and assess patients
- Management and care of minor illness and injuries
- Assessment, evaluation and implementation of care for long term conditions
- Undertake reception screening
- Complete health promotion
- Be the named lead nurse for an area of healthcare
Please note the role will include night shifts as part of the rota.
Criteria:
- Essential:
- Registered nurse - Adult
- Current professional qualification (NMC) with no restrictions to practice
- Evidence of Continued Professional Development
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to participate in multi professional teamwork
- Ability to work without direct supervision
- Believe and work within Dr PA Secure's values
- Desirable:
- Experience of supervising and mentoring junior staff
- Mentorship qualification
- Up to date clinical knowledge of wound management, including complex wounds
- Knowledge in substance misuse
- Previous experience within a secure setting or primary health care setting
- Experience of patient assessment and triage
- Competent in venepuncture
- Management of long-term conditions
