Oakhill Secure Training Centre is operated by G4S Care and Justice Services. The centre provides accommodation across three blocks for up to 80 children (male and female) aged 12 to 17 years who are serving a custodial sentence or who are remanded to custody by the courts. Children are not permitted to leave the centre and they have all their healthcare, educational and religious needs met within the centre.

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Clinical Psychologist to lead the psychology and wellbeing service at Oakhill Secure Training Centre, providing care for children and young people aged 12‑18 in a custodial setting. This senior clinical leadership role involves:

  • Overseeing the full psychology service
  • Driving the implementation of the Secure Stairs framework
  • Championing a trauma‑informed, developmentally sensitive approach to care
  • Caring a specialist caseload
  • Supervising and developing the wellbeing team
  • Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment to deliver meaningful outcomes for some of the most vulnerable young people in the justice system

Qualifications

  • A Doctoral degree in Clinical, Forensic, Educational or Child Psychology
  • Active HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist
  • Substantial experience working across multiple care settings
  • Proven experience in clinical supervision, staff management, and service leadership
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in complex, high‑pressure environments
  • A minimum of 5 years continuous UK residency is required for security clearance purposes
