We are recruiting a permanent Engineer / Technical Service Operator to support automated healthcare systems within hospital environments. This is a hands-on role combining installation, maintenance, and technical support of advanced equipment used in patient care. You’ll be part of a specialist team ensuring systems are installed correctly, maintained proactively, and supported efficiently day-to-day.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation & Implementation
- Install and configure automated systems in hospital settings
- Calibrate, test, and support systems through go-live
- Work to project plans and timelines during implementations
- Provide daily technical support for automated equipment
- Carry out preventative maintenance and system checks
- Diagnose and repair hardware and software faults
- Ensure systems meet agreed service levels (SLAs)
- Maintain accurate technical and operational records
- Build strong working relationships with clinical and technical teams
- Participate in an on-call rota to support out-of-hours services
What We’re Looking For
- Experience maintaining and repairing technical or automated equipment
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Confident working with both hardware and software systems
- Comfortable using Excel and basic reporting tools
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team
- Based in or able to commute to Leicester
Desirable
- Degree in a technical or scientific discipline
- Experience working in healthcare or regulated environments
