We are recruiting a permanent Engineer / Technical Service Operator to support automated healthcare systems within hospital environments. This is a hands-on role combining installation, maintenance, and technical support of advanced equipment used in patient care. You’ll be part of a specialist team ensuring systems are installed correctly, maintained proactively, and supported efficiently day-to-day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Installation & Implementation
  • Install and configure automated systems in hospital settings
  • Calibrate, test, and support systems through go-live
  • Work to project plans and timelines during implementations
  • Technical Support & Maintenance
    • Provide daily technical support for automated equipment
    • Carry out preventative maintenance and system checks
    • Diagnose and repair hardware and software faults
    • Ensure systems meet agreed service levels (SLAs)
    • Maintain accurate technical and operational records
    • Build strong working relationships with clinical and technical teams
    • Participate in an on-call rota to support out-of-hours services

    What We’re Looking For

    • Experience maintaining and repairing technical or automated equipment
    • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
    • Confident working with both hardware and software systems
    • Comfortable using Excel and basic reporting tools
    • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team
    • Based in or able to commute to Leicester

    Desirable

    • Degree in a technical or scientific discipline
    • Experience working in healthcare or regulated environments
