We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Project Engineer to join our Engineering Services team. Based in Hull with travel across the UK, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality electrical engineering projects from concept through to commissioning. This is a senior, client-facing position where you’ll act as Lead Electrical Engineer, managing multiple projects, coordinating on-site teams, and ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead electrical engineering delivery across multiple projects
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, contractors, and internal teams
- Prepare tenders, proposals, budgets, and project schedules
- Interpret technical documentation, drawings, and specifications
- Manage project performance, including cost tracking and reporting
- Oversee on-site activities, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance
- Produce technical documentation (RAMS, reports, inspection & maintenance plans)
- Support commissioning, FAT, and project close-out activities
- Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering standards and processes
- Support business development and client relationship building
About You
You’re a highly motivated and commercially aware engineer with strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering excellence. You will have:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role (consultancy or contracting)
- Strong experience across full project lifecycle (FEED to commissioning)
- Excellent knowledge of LV & HV systems (up to 132kV)
- In-depth understanding of BS7671, ATEX, and electrical safety standards
- Solid knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contracts and commercial management
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Qualifications & Requirements
- Degree, HND, or HNC in Electrical Engineering
- Working towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) status (minimum IEng)
- Membership of a professional body (e.g. IET)
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel to client sites across the UK
