This is a key commercial position responsible for nurturing direct global grower relationships, executing strategic business plans, and hitting service, quality, and financial targets across retail, wholesale, and foodservice channels.

The role offers high autonomy, international travel opportunities, and a platform to represent the business at major trade events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain direct, long-term relationships with global grower partners.
  • Execute strategic buying plans to meet service level, quality, and financial targets.
  • Negotiate competitive terms, volume commitments, and supply agreements.
  • Conduct detailed market and numerical analyses to guide buying decisions and present recommendations.
  • Represent the business at key industry trade shows and travel overseas for site visits as required.
  • Collaborate across internal teams and external stakeholders to balance commercial goals with customer needs.

Skills & Experience Required

Proven track record as a Buyer, within the fresh produce sector.

  • Advanced working knowledge of MS Office (particularly Excel); working knowledge of SAP is advantageous.
  • Strong negotiation, influencing, and strategic planning capabilities with high numerical accuracy.
  • Intermediate Spanish language skills or higher are strongly preferred due to overseas supplier interaction.
  • Willingness and capability to travel internationally when required.
