To proactively increase the profit of a designated account portfolio and achieve a specific turnover target at a budgeted margin.

Responsibilities
- Put customers at the centre of what we do, act responsively and with integrity.
- Have a full understanding of the health and safety, quality and hygiene standards associated with the operation of the department and ensure they are observed and maintained at all times.
- Comply with relevant food safety legislation and internal CCP and allergen requirements.
- Effectively manage a designated portfolio of customer accounts.
- Proactively build and maximise customer relationships through a calling/meeting program to ensure repeat orders are received on lime and further product lines are introduced to existing customers (working with all relevant departments).
- Proactively manage customer price files and negotiate appropriate price increases, to ensure no orders are processed at a negative margin.
- For health and safety reasons, overnight stays must be incorporated into journey plans to reduce excessive mileage. The details of the hotel must also be recorded and logged.
- Following each customer visit, the CRM system must be updated with all relevant information gained from the meeting, i. e. competitor pricings, contract reviews.
Any follow-up action must also be accurately recorded.
- File and maintain electronic copies of all customer‑relevant correspondence into relevant CRM accounts.
- Regularly review sales performance through various CRM reports, to identify ways to increase turnover and ensure that turnover and margins do not slip.
- Make proactive customer calls to reduce stock, as and when required.
- Communicate key business changes to customers (e. g. 7 day lead lime, minimum order) and ensure customers meet these requirements.
- Follow up all customer complaints to ensure the customer feels the issue has been resolved. Where necessary discuss issues face‑to‑face.
- Work with other departments to discuss customer issues and requirements and obtain mutually agreeable solutions.
- Wherever possible, secure future business by entering into contracts with customers. These should be reviewed monthly to maximise their income potential.
- Contribute to the company budget planning and goal settings by providing forecasted plans by customer and margin.
- Accustom yourself to all Sleaford's data platforms/systems within the business to maximise the efficiency of your time and responsibility.
- Work in unison with all colleagues to achieve the Business KPIs.
- Partake in the planning/execution of the Manufacturing sales 36‑month strategic plan.
- Work collaboratively with our NPD team on projects and assignments.
- Complete an Expenses Form monthly and return to your direct report within seven days after the end of the month.
All expenses must be accompanied by the relevant receipts and an explanation of the costs incurred.
- Understand and adhere to relevant company policies and procedures.
- Carry out any other duties as requested by the Head of Sales.
- Position in Organisation and Relationship with Others
You will be working as part of the Sales Department reporting to the Head of Sales and working alongside a designated Customer Service Advisor.
In your absence, your role will be covered by the Customer Service Advisor.
In return, you may be called upon to cover the portfolio of another Key Account Manager as required.
