Sales Professionals – Scottish Fine Food Producer

Multi‑award‑winning luxury food producer based in Aberdeen seeks a dynamic, ambitious, and articulate sales professional to join its team.

Two‑time winner of the Queen's award for export and Royal Warrant Holder, John Ross Jr (Aberdeen) Ltd is a world‑renowned, international supplier of smoked salmon and other foods from Scotland. Founded on a principle of producing the highest quality produce, we have an exceptional range of products distributed in 30 countries.

We are looking for enthusiastic and confident sales professionals to join our busy, growing team.

For anyone that thrives on selling, this is a great opportunity and one that can develop significantly if results are achieved. Whilst training and advice will be available when required, candidates will be expected to "hit the ground running" with fast results proving success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Successfully bring in new customers to the business in the following markets: HORECA (Hotel, Restaurant, Catering); Wholesalers, Fishmongers & Distributors; Retailers (Multiple & Independent).
  • Build, maintain, manage and develop business with existing customers.
  • Arrange quotations as required.
  • Have close working relationships with suppliers.
  • Manage own administration, pipeline, new business database and existing customer sheet.
  • Arrange specifications and samples to potential new customers.
  • Process customer orders and monitor order levels.
  • Build & maintain a close working relationship with the staff across the company.
  • Ensure deadlines and objectives are met, as set by the Sales Director.
  • Research own leads and actively/continually approach.

In order for the role to be carried out successfully the individual will take the time to fully understand the business, its production processes, its many unique selling propositions and all of the nuances that must be considered for being commercially astute and knowledgeable for excellent results and good customer engagement.

Attributes

  • Ideally experience in FMCG sales and some experience within the food business (although not essential).
  • Excellent telephone etiquette and comfortable with making multiple cold calls daily (this will form a large part of the role).
  • Persistent, tenacious and hungry for success.
  • European Languages would be a huge advantage.
  • A strong and continuous focus on business development.

Appointments are being made in dual locations – Aberdeen and Surrey. Aberdeen roles will be office based, Surrey roles will be home based.
