Job Description

  • Hygiene Supervisor – Night Shift
  • Work Pattern: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 7:00pm-4:00am

About the role

Based in Wellingborough - This is a hands-on supervisory role within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment, leading the hygiene team across the night shift.

You will be responsible for ensuring cleaning schedules are completed to the required standard, maintaining strong food safety and GMP standards, and supporting the wider Operations team with hygiene-related issues.

The role would suit an experienced Hygiene Supervisor, Hygiene Team Leader or Senior Hygiene Operative looking to take the next step into a supervisory position.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support hygiene operatives across the night shift.
  • Ensure cleaning schedules are completed correctly and on time.
  • Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and GMP.
  • Investigate hygiene-related non-conformances.
  • Support investigations into environmental and food-contact swab failures.
  • Coordinate the cleaning of factory equipment.
  • Support customer visits and third-party audits.
  • Maintain accurate hygiene and traceability documentation.

  • Consistently high standards of cleanliness and food safety.
  • Effective management of cleaning schedules and shift priorities.
  • Good communication with Operations and Production teams.

Essential

  • Previous experience working within hygiene in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Good understanding of GMP and food safety standards.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Confidence working independently and leading others.
  • Willingness to work permanent night shifts.

Experience desirable

  • Previous Hygiene Supervisor or Hygiene Team Leader experience.
  • Experience with environmental swabbing, audits and non-conformance investigations.
  • Experience working within chilled, frozen, bakery, meat, ready meals or similar food manufacturing environments.
