We are partnering with an established, high-profile luxury food manufacturing business renowned for producing premium products for major UK retailers. Working within a fast-paced production environment, they are seeking two detail-oriented and analytical Inventory & Purchasing Coordinators to join their Operations team. These roles combine hands-on stock control with operational purchasing, working closely with Production, Technical, and NPD teams to keep the sites running smoothly.

Role 1: Inventory & Purchasing Coordinator – Packaging

  • Secondary & primary packaging availability, lead times, and supplier coordination.
  • Maintain packaging forecasts, monitor safety stock, and raise POs aligned with production plans.
  • Work directly with NPD and Marketing on the introduction of new packaging lines and artwork/specification changes.

Role 2: Inventory & Purchasing Coordinator – Raw Materials

  • Focus on ingredients, consumables, shelf life, and allergen compliance.
  • Maintain raw material inventory forecasts, track short-dated or at-risk stock, and raise POs to hit production schedules.
  • Ensure all incoming ingredients strictly meet food safety, quality, and allergen requirements while supporting sitewide traceability audits.

Key Responsibilities (Both Roles)

  • Conduct regular, physical stock counts in the production & warehouses, investigating and resolving any variances promptly.
  • Raise purchase orders against agreed supplier specs/contracts, reconcile deliveries against invoices, and manage pricing/lead-time queries with suppliers.
  • Maintain accurate stock records, analyse inventory flow, and track monthly performance against waste, cost, and stock availability targets.
  • Support site traceability exercises, inventory reconciliations, and continuous improvement projects.

Your Skills & Experience

  • You must be comfortable and confident in the shop floor/warehouse areas to conduct regular physical inventory audits and count reconciliations.
  • Advanced Excel & Systems Skills - Highly competent using spreadsheets (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs/XLOOKUPs, data modelling) for inventory & purchasing.
  • Proven track record in stock control, inventory management, purchasing, or supply coordination. Food manufacturing or FMCG background.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, strong attention to detail, and calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to liaise effectively with internal stakeholders (Production, Technical, NPD) and external suppliers.
