As a Platform Engineer, you will be part of our platform engineering team, helping to improve productivity and efficiency through developer tooling, automation, and infrastructure as code. Our platform is cloud-native and we use Kubernetes extensively (AKS) to run our applications and services within Azure. You will play a key role in shaping how we leverage AI-driven automation, Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations, and agentic workflows to build self-healing, intelligent platform capabilities—while maintaining a strong security-first mindset across our multi-tenant automotive SaaS platform.
Key Responsibilities- Infrastructure & Automation
- Work with fellow platform engineers to manage our Azure infrastructure and provision platform resources and services using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
- Write automation (using Terraform, Python, Bash, and other scripting languages) to reduce repetitive and manual activities.
- Implement and maintain GitOps workflows using ArgoCD for declarative, auditable deployments.
- Support product engineering teams with core platform tooling (CI/CD pipelines via Azure DevOps) and cross-cutting functionality such as logging, alerting, and observability.
- Security & Compliance
- Champion security-by-design principles across all platform components, including container security, network policies, and secrets management.
- Implement and maintain security controls for our multi-tenant AKS clusters, including RBAC, pod security standards, and network segmentation.
- Support vulnerability management, penetration testing remediation, and security patching processes.
- Ensure compliance with industry security standards and participate in security audits.
- Implement secure CI/CD practices including image scanning, SBOM generation, and supply chain security.
- Reliability & Observability
- Operate our platform by responding to alerts and using runbooks to efficiently restore service.
- Build and maintain comprehensive observability across our multi-brand automotive infrastructure using Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, and distributed tracing.
- Identify issues and areas for improvement to establish a culture of production excellence.
- Contribute to incident response and post-incident reviews to continuously improve platform reliability.
- Experience working within a cloud-native platform with practical knowledge of Kubernetes and Azure services (AKS, Azure AD, Key Vault, Azure Monitor).
- Solid understanding of Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, including module development and state management.
- Core platform engineering skills: Git version control, Linux administration, shell scripting (Bash), and at least one programming language (Python preferred).
- Appreciation of DevOps and GitOps principles with hands-on experience in CI/CD pipelines and tools like ArgoCD, Azure DevOps, or similar.
- Strong understanding of security best practices for cloud-native environments, including container security, network policies, and secrets management.
- Logical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot problems and proactively find solutions to restore service and prevent reoccurrence.
- Ability to collaborate with technical peers, communicate complex ideas clearly, and agree on optimal solutions.
- Experience with AI/ML tooling and patterns, including familiarity with LLMs, prompt engineering, or AI-assisted development tools.
- Understanding of the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and experience building integrations that connect AI agents to infrastructure tools.
- Experience with observability platforms (Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, Sentry) and implementing alerting strategies.
- Knowledge of security scanning tools (Snyk, Trivy, Microsoft Defender for Containers) and DevSecOps practices.
- Experience supporting microservices architectures in a multi-tenant SaaS environment.
- Familiarity with Helm charts, Kustomize, and Kubernetes operators.
- Any relevant certifications: CKA/CKAD, Azure certifications, HashiCorp Terraform Associate.
- A positive, proactive, and energetic attitude to help us transform the digital automotive buying experience.
- Keen to learn and develop by progressing in a fast-moving tech company.
- Curious about emerging technologies, particularly AI-driven platform capabilities.
- Security-conscious mindset with attention to detail.
