Drivers Direct Recruitment are looking to recruit HGV Class 2 drivers for Temp to Perm roles based in Keighley. Newly qualified drivers will be considered.

Hours of work: Days Start times 0300hr - 0400hr Monday to Saturday shifts and a minimum of 4 days can be agreed but Saturday working is compulsory. Full time hours. Multidrop - all handball (carrying and pulling crates, pushing and pulling cages). Drivers are required to work bank holidays with the exception of Christmas and New Year. Rota of shifts will be reduced: rest week 1/full rest week 2 and so on.

Pay: From £15.70ph to £16.50ph PAYE. With holiday pay £17.60ph - £18.50ph. Overtime paid at flat rate £15.70ph or £16.50ph as applicable. After 3 months a £1.00ph bonus can be earned. Newly qualified drivers will start on the lower rate of £15.70ph PAYE increasing to £16.50ph after successful 6 months probation. After 6 months, newly qualified drivers can qualify for £500.00 bonus. And then after a further 6 months another £500.00 bonus can be earned.

Permanent details: 21 days holidays plus bank holidays. Simply Health scheme after 6 months. Bupa Health scheme after 5 years. Pension.

The Role: Deliveries of 8 - 10 on average per day to wholesale and units. Routes average 10.5 - 11hrs per day. Chilled goods. Double runs required as per business needs. Tail Lift work. Handball required on all runs. Various runs but all runs are on repeat to the same customers so route can be learned. Full training working with another. Induction on day 1. A manual role at each delivery location.

Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out relevant daily vehicle safety checks and reporting as per Operational Procedures.
  • Ensure all delivery and collections are carried out in accordance with company procedures.
  • To deliver & collect to customers in a safe and professional manner.
  • To complete all work related paperwork in full and hand in at the end of the shift.

Essential Skills:

  • Must hold a valid HGV 2, CLASS 2, Cat C licence.
  • Must hold a valid driver qualification (CPC) card.
  • Must hold a valid Digital tacho card.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good customer relations.
  • Have a safe driving record.
  • No more than 6 minor penalty points due to insurance stipulations.
  • No DRs, INs or DDs offence codes due to insurance stipulations.
