Drivers Direct Recruitment are looking to recruit an ongoing HGV 1 driver on behalf of our client to join their team working out of their site in Doncaster (DN11).

This position is a guaranteed until at least September.

Hours of work

  • Day and Night shifts available
  • Monday to Friday - weekend shift availability also
  • Days starting 0300 onwards
  • Nights starting 1500 onwards
  • Guaranteed 8 hours per shift minimum

Salary

  • Mon to Fri Days = £16.50 + £2.00 holiday pay
  • Mon to Fri Nights = £17.50 + £2.12 holiday pay
  • Saturdays = £19.00 + £2.29 holiday pay

The Role

  • Ongoing trunking work
  • Trailer swaps involved

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Carrying out relevant daily vehicle safety checks and reporting as per Operational Procedures.
  • Ensure all delivery and collections are carried out in accordance with company procedures.
  • To deliver & collect to customers in a safe and professional manner.
  • To complete all work related paperwork in full and hand in at the end of the shift.

Essential Skills

  • Must hold a valid HGV 1 / Cat C+E licence with at least 1 years experience.
  • Must hold a valid driver qualification (CPC) card and valid Digital tacho card.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good customer relations.
  • Have a safe driving record with no more than 6 minor penalty points due to insurance stipulations, and no DRs, INs or DDs offence codes due to insurance stipulations.
